PRODUCTION MANAGER
Our client is a leading multinational for secure car registrations and vehicle registration and identification systems. The production manager will be responsible for the profitable manufacturing of Blanks in Senegal by monitoring and managing the JV contracts to manufacture and distribute Blanks and Hot Foil in Senegal and continuously improve the local operation.
Accountabilities
- Assist in the tender application process
- Identify opportunities for growth or efficiencies in the markets
- Present new solutions proposals and quality customer service
- Maximise profitability of contracts
- Manage customer relationships
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Control production processes and schedules
- Ensure finished products meet agreed quality standards
- Manage operations within specified budget
- Maximise utilisation personnel resources
- Make sure that the local quality assurance is maintained and remains adequate and relevant
- Ensure efficient functioning of plants and equipment
- Ensure a high level of safety in the workplace
- Be aware of any new legislative changes in occupational health and safety.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skills mix to meet production requirements
- Conduct the recruitment of all direct and in-direct reports within JV Management guidelines
- Ensure the direct and indirect reports meet the JV Management requirements
- Conduct performance reviews and training
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Degree qualified is preferred in related discipline (Manufacturing, Production Operations)
- Previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing area
- Previous experience in managing a team effectively and efficiently
- Previous experience in Continuous Improvement
- Problem solving skills
- Proven analytical and process driven thinking
- Proven experience in managing relationships with government bodies and clients
- High level communication skills
- Excellent understanding of Quality Assurance
- Excellent understanding of occupational health and safety workplace laws and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage and work within budgets
- Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines or targets
- Outstanding organisational skills
