FINANCE MANAGER
Our customer is an international company specialized in mining . The Finance Manager provide administrative support through accurate recording of all financial transactions, payroll administration services and timely payment of salaries.Regular financial reporting to corporate as well as liaison with and coordination of external parties to audit fiancial systems ,maintain IFRS standards and meet SYSCOA reporting requirements and other statutory obligations in Senegal.
Missions

- Management & Supervision
- Ensuring Compliance with the requirements of NI52-109; Ensuring robust internal controls over operational transactions
- Oversee the accounting functions and review on timely basis all reconciliation reports
- Supply Head of department monthly detailed transactions (preliminary/final) for their review for reallocations and accrual purposes
- Ensure Accounts Payable , Accounts Receivable , Payroll and fixed Asset processing procédures are understood and followed;
- Responsible for operational accruals on a monthmy basis, including journal preparation, review and recording ;
- Liaise with various departments to ensure accuracy of data transferred in the general ledger
- Internal Controls
- Ensure that sound internal controls are maintained through:
- Proper segregation of duties (employee roster management)
- Frequant review of account reconciliations
- Effective EFT and cheque signatory controls
- Ensure that sound internal controls are maintained through:
- Reporting
- Ensure statutory reports/ deliverables/requests are professionally compiled and presented on time
- Ensuring compliance with the requirements of NI52-109
- Produce and submit monthly performance summary to Teranga Corporate Finance
- Produce final , good quality accounting data for off-site support users
- Ensures Compliance with all senegales taxes and the tax reporting
- Cash&Treasury
- Manage and review cash calls submitted to the corporate office
- Review cash/bank reconciliations on timely basis
- Prepare and analyse cash flow requirements to monthly operation costs
- Reconcile cash call and prepare three month cash flow forecast
- Cash Management-Senegal and Paris Bank Accounts
- Ensure physical cash is limited
- Gold Accounting
- Oversee the metal (Gold Book) accounting with timely reconciliation reports
- Ensure that adequate gold shipment documentation is prepared
- Responsible for Gold Shipment,Sales journals and reconciliation on a monthly basis, and relevant journals
- GIC bullion reconcialiations between gold book and process metallurgist records.
- Accounts Payable
- Manage the A/P and payment function
- Develop and maintain good relationships with all suppliers
- Promote and develop supplier account reconciliation process
- Payroll
- Assist with day to day payroll administration
- Subordinate Development
- Assist with identification of candidates for the department's succession planning program
- Mentor, train and coach members of the department to enhance overall team skills development
- Ad Hoc Duties
- At times ,will be required to perform other duties that are not listed above required for the purpose of the business by department or management
- Ad Hoc projects requested by VP
- Systems/Process
- Ensure Effective management of any process,procedure or system improvements or upgrades
- Improve and develop systems/process through frequent reviews
- Information
- Ensure effective management of accurate and timely information to the site Commercial Manager , The company corporate Office and the Senegalese Government Departments
- Audits
- Coordinate the external and Internal audit requirements and frequenct of audits
- Collate management comments on audit findings and implement remedial actions where required
Position Holder's Requirements
- University Diploma or equivalent degree qualification in Finance or Accounting discipline
- Minimum 10 Years' relevant experience with at least 3 years in a similar role with direct management of other employees
- Relevant Work experience with and international audit practice is strongly preferred
- Demonstrable relevant experience in SYSCOA
- Desmontrated people management experience including ability to coach and mentor team members of diverse backgroungs
- Strong Collaboration, integrity and communication skills needed
- French speaking is strongly preferred
